Brief
History of the Acadia Disposal District

By-laws
and an Interlocal agreement were completed in 2003, and
the ADD became a legal corporation.
-
Three
towns voted to join and to fund the organization –
Town of Mount Desert, Trenton and Cranberry Island, Maine.
-
In
less than a year, the Town of Tremont also voted to join.
-
The
Town of Southwest Harbor joined with a nearly unanimous
vote at their town meeting May 3, 2004.
